Yeah, D's car is legendary. A total ground breaker on so many levels. He's years ahead of the rest of the big-dogs on the Subie show circuit. Wire-tucking a Subaru is no minor taks like a Honda.
I'll be at wekfest Sunday dude. You should show up.

Loving the work you did to your car man...
How long did it take you to get the fenders lined out all the way?? I have done some cutting and rolling, but still a lot of rubbing in the rears, and when I have more then me in the car.. LOL

My car took me about 18 - 20 hours because it was the first one I ever did and I needed it driveable daily. I'd work a little everyday. Then I broke both garnish pieces on seperate occasions so I had to wait for those. Then I had problems with the adhesive, etc.NeonOn19s wrote:Loving the work you did to your car man...

The car I did for my buddy (White 07' STI) that took third at Subeifest in his class....ugh... His was a rush job on a weekend. I rolled both fronts, did teh crazy grinding and cutting on the rears, and teh custom brake ducts with electric fans over the weekend. We started on a Sat morning and the car went home Monday night after the glue was dry on the garnish. He raced that following Sat.
His were the most aggressive rears I have ever done. We had to keep constant heat on the garnish so it would bend to the curves of the flares when they were drying. Crazy...
The blue car was a recent one for wekfest. This car was flawless. Looked like he waxed it daily. Rolling the fronts is child's play. I did his rears the saem way I did the white car's with a less aggressive flare. I'd say his came out around 1 3/4" instead of the 2 1/4" the white car had. About 20 hours cuz I barely knwo the dude and didn't want any issues.
This is a guideline but, I take it a step further in terms of interior fender work. You could easily fit 275's on the white car all day.

You'll see they do SOME grinding. I do ALOT of grinding. I remove all of teh spot welds and seperate the two sheets of metal. Then I cut away about 2"of the interior sheet leaving the outer-painted metal intact. Then its rolling, hammering, heating, hammering, and shaping time. (All the while taking notes and measurements to match the opposite side. Its a shit-ton of work.
I'd say my fender work is 2x as aggressive as th3_clap's
