Lowering Springs on Stock Struts

Post by lilnicko11 » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:04 am

Will an Eibach Pro Kit or something similar work ok with good condition stock struts?? Not enough money for coil overs, and my struts are in decent condition. Just need to lower sometime this summer and thinking of all the ways possible to do it.....input welcome. thanks

It'll work for a while. I've heard of people using stock struts and they've lasted years. Others a couple of months. Depends on the drop, the condition of the struts, and the driving conditions. I wouldn't do it for long, though.

ACR struts are adjustable aren't they? If so, you can easily combat the drop by increasing the settings to a firmer level. Plus the Pro Kit drop is pretty mild. The problem is how soft the rates are, which will cause the car to bottom out, especially in the rear. I would recommend aftermarket struts above all, but the ACR struts are much better off than standard units.

the front will be fine with the acr struts, the rear is where you're going to have problems blowing struts and bottoming out. get some tokico blues or srt acr struts for the rear and u should be fine.
