"OH SHIT" handles

Post by blueneo03 » Wed Apr 22, 2009 12:26 am

alright so the story is i got some oh shit handles off of ebay and i wanted to put them in. i was wondering if i could make them fit with the stock headliner or if i would have to have one from a car with the handles in it originally. i know i need the clips for holding them in.. and such just need to know about the headliner.
thanks

hmmm, my fiance was just complaining about my neon not having them. i was taking a turn a weeee bit fast. yay for new tires.

be sure to make sure you can mount them before you make any holes in the headliner.

I've got 7 of those clips from the car that I'm parting out. They are a pain to remove. My finger tips hurt for a day, after I removed three. The sunvisor hook use the same clip. Send me on offer on the clips that I have left.

The headliners are especially molded for the handles.

If you want a headliner that doesnt have a sunroof hole and oshit handle indents, i think its only on the import neons. Otherwise you will have to find one w/ a sunroof hole, and be creative filling the hole.

I FOUND ONE of these at the junkyard today !! :D
( The headliner with the 'ohshit' handles, that is.)

This was from a 2000 Neon without a sunroof (mine doesn't have one.)

Anyone know the part number for the retainer clips that go into the roof ? :)

if youre going to put in oh shit handles into a regular headliner your going to run into a minor clearance issue for the handles. the headliner thats made for having handles in it has recessed areas so your hand doesn't get "rug burn" then you go grab them.

There are plenty of neons in the US with oh shit handles and no sunroof. It was how some of them came back in 00-02. I've had a few of these headliners along the way. But I would pick up one of those because like others have said they are recessed.

most sx 2.0's i see around here come with the handles. Especially if it's an sx 2.0 sport.
