Lookie what I bought.

My SRT's little sister has joined the family.

1998 Plymouth Neon.

5 Speed :)

112k on the clock.

I bought it as a daily driver, so I can keep my SRT as clean as possible, and out of the elements. This little car is super clean for a 98'. The interior doesn't smell funky or like smoke either. It's a perfect little dd. Let me know what you think.

I'll get some interior shots this weekend. I put a down payment on it today, and will pick it up for good this weekend. I got it for 2k. The really cheap one was out of state. This one is already Maryland inspected, and is only 20 minutes from my house. Maybe it's a LITTLE steep, but it's a very clean car, and I didn't want a daily that was falling apart lol. I love my white cars lol.

NICE find. You got a good deal, even at 2K. I sold a '98 with 93K on it for $2800. Granted, it had a new head, full trans service, new tires, and new everything that is wear related. lol. And it's getting a complete rebuild (hone, rings, bearings, crank) for free.

Anyway, that's a beautiful little car. Nice that is has the 5 speed too. Too bad it's not a DOHC. That would have been asking for too much.

I would think of it more as an older, less developed sister than a younger sister to your SRT. But that's just me :-D

That is exactly what I should do as well! Very nice looking 1GN! Even if I did have the money, I have just a one car garage and a Neon wouldn't sit outside, even if it were a DD! :D

Hell yah. If I had a daily driver like that I would keep it stock. It would be hard, but I will would just keep it nice and clean.

Yours is in excellent condition after seeing the bigger version of the picts. Most of all the 1st gens I see around here are haggard.

Amen to that. Of course I see pics of that slammed 1gn and my mind starts wandering ... we'll see how long I can go before I mod it some. But either way, I'll always want to put money into the SRT so it shouldn't be too hard keeping my hands off this one lmao.

LOL damn LSP that is sad (for you =p). That makes me feel better about my purchase lmao. Yea I'm thrilled I found a white one so clean. I would have settle for anything as long as it met my price range. I just really lucked out.

Nice buy! We need 'family pics' once you actually get the car.

Haha. See that is one thing I promised myself I would not do. Is lower it. My neon is bagged and kitted. So I am constantly worrying about scraping in that car. It is nice not having to worry about it in my bmw. Also having a nice smooth ride too. If I want to have people look at me and stare at how low I am I take the neon, not the bimmer.

But that doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. I already have plans to put a euro off centered stripe on my bmw, tint the tails and corners, wrap some pieces in black suede, and do a little painting. I can promise you no matter how much you say you wanna keep it stock. You won't. I find myself on the bimmer forums as much as on the neon forums. I am already attending a meet in it too hahaha.

But you are going to LOVE not having to drive your neon on shitty days. God is it nice. Sooo much easier to keep clean and in tip top shape. You def made a good purchase ;)

Yea I saw your thread about the stripe. I think it will look good :) And yea, I'm already thrilled that I can keep the SRT in the garage on a rainy day or during the entire winter lol. Booya.

You guys have me wanting a DD. Though, Id prefer a 2000+ single cab, short bed, 4wd Chevy, or a 90-93 single cab Dodge Dually, with a Cummins of course. Of course, I dont think I could leave that stock either.

Just re-read the post and found that, d'oh!

Get booger bushings for it, you'll thank me later. I had to do them in my 98 for inspection, sinc ethey were shot. It was like hunting for the gears, they were so bad.

As I said before, you need any help, let me know!!
