Yep, I made the switch to Geico today.
State Farm: $171 a month.
Geico: $92 a month.
You do the math.
Oh, and happy birthday to me!

I think it's just a State Farm thing. Everywhere else was around the $80 - $100 range.
Oh, and with State Farm, I had $1000 deductibles. With Geico, it's only $500 deductibles. Go figure.

I recently switch from state farm to progressive. My record sucks and it was way cheaper.
State farm: 149 = Shitty health coverage and only liability on the neon. 1000 dollar deductable.
Progressive: 141 = two times the health coverage, full coverage on the neon with $3,000 custom parts coverage and liability on my 93 BMW second car with a 500 dollar deductable.
Ya I was ready to kill my state farm agent. Was fun when I went in to cancel my coverage though haha.

^^ LOL! It's prolly a safe bet that they will charge for a list that long.
The only extra charge I have is for a speeding ticket back in May 2006. It'll be off the record in a few months.

Meh, esurance is the cheapest I've found.
Full coverage, $250 deductible, $5,000 in custom parts, and 2 speeding tickets on my record is only $170 a month.
I can't complain
oh, happy birthday!

damn...
Car accidents suck. Mine from june sent my insurance from $160/month (rates are high in seattle because of the BS traffic we have here) to $300/month. The only thing on my record.
Congrats yo on the good rate and happy bd.

Wow. The only reason I have state farm is because my family has carried a policy with them since the 80's. I have full coverage on my 05 dakota, and liability on my 98. I'm paying $156 a month or so, with them being in my mom's neighborhood. My mom is paying on the 05 neon since it helps my brother get a lower rate.
When I upgrade my policy to add my wife, they go down by a third...........AND THEN DOUBLE.
Needless to say, I haven't changed the policy yet.

So many neons so little time.

I've had every insurance company known to man. I was paying $360/mo. at one time when I had points on my record (2). I recently switched to State Farm due to a hook up via my g/f's mom. Her mom's friend is an agent and got me a ridiculous deal. With clean records, our premium is now $230/mo. for full coverage on BOTH Neons, AND renters insurance.

Damn that's good lol.
I had full coverage with an insurance company in town, but since my license expired they dropped the full coverage. Was paying only liability the last couple months ($44/month) even though my car's still on a loan. Probably going to switch to Geico. Oh, and my state honors Active Duty military with expired licenses as long as I'm not driving in the state... but this insurance company doesn't honor that law for some reason...

I have Drive through Progressive and my coverage is pretty darn good and I think I pay less than $100 month. It's something like that. I paid it off not long ago. I can't recall what the 6 month thing was like $800-ish.

you're all pretty fortunate.. move to MA and then see how you get raped on insurance.
even the last round of changes to the law didn't really do anything for us.. and as far as i know no new insurers have opted to do business here.. geico, state farm, progressive, etc.. none of them do business in MA.
so with Amica i pay 175/mo for full coverage, 500 deductible, 2 drivers-- 1 "inexperienced" premium, and my record has 2 accidents, one or two speeding, and a red light violation.
i pay more in insurance than the car is even worth.. heh
the rates in MA are set by law i believe, so every company will basically be the same..

for my pt gt it's 92 full coverage a month with progressive...
and i have a bad driving record. Lost my liscense 4 total times for speeding violations. lol
it's been alot cleaner the past couple years though.
when i first got the neon it was 260 a month b/c of my record at the time.

I didn't sue but Progressive ripped me off big time when my '02 SXT got totalled. I filed a complaint with the Indiana Department of Insurance and they agreed that the settlement was too low but they have no laws to enforce settlement amounts.

And, contrary to their commericals, the Ford SUV that is supposed to come and pick you up never arrived (I stood in the rain for over four hours waiting for a tow truck and ended up having to hitch a ride to Progressive's location with the wrecker driver!).[/off-topic]

Progressive's service sucks ass. Period.
State Farm will take care of you, but it's the least they can do while raping you till you butt bleeds.
I had to drop State Farm when I got the neon. $700 more a half was just too much of an increase. I was paying $327/6 months for the Cherokee, which is worth more $ will do more damage if I hit someone. And the brakes/handling suck ass comared to the neon's. But the neon is considered a bigger liabiltity. They wouldn't budge so I dropped them.

Really weird. State Farm was the lowest by a lot for me. For my neon (liability) and her Grand Cherokee (full cov) its $160/month. She has two at faults and my record is clean. It will be $50/month to add the Monte SS.
I also have her engagement ring, our homeowners, my wedding band and her wedding bands with them.
