civic idiots around here get a wake up call
well here around cincy we have alot of idiot civics that go open headers and its loud and they love it but i think it sounds stupid.anyways just a few days ago one flipped his and died.i know some people that knew him so its sad but the story is crazy.the driver died cause he was going 80-100 and his gf turned the key off on him so he lost power steering, brakes, and his wheel might have locked.civics are not made for racing twisties.too light

unless you know that for a fact that article doesn't explicitly say that.. but if that is the case, regardless of whether or not he could have controlled the car throughout this racing or whatever.... the only real problem here is the gf turning the key off..... stupid girls.N30N wrote:his gf turned the key off on him

though the girlfriend may have turned the key off, her actions of trying to get the boyfriend to stop something that was reckless and putting her life and other passengers at risk was not stupid.jT wrote:the only real problem here is the gf turning the key off..... stupid girls.
How many different ways could you think of trying to stop a car that you are in and then compound that with the heighten state of the situation. I guess I would have gone for the Ebrake if it was a handle and reachable.... I dunno.

In the story it mentions someone shutting the engine off, but doesn't mention whether or not it was the cause of the accident. At least not that I saw.
Sucks that he died, but maybe it'll be a wakeup call for some of those racers that street racing is FUCKING STUPID!!!!!

Man that sucks. But they shouldn't be street racing in the first place. It puts everyone involved and everyone around them in danger. But if his gf really did pull the ignition off, then that was a really bad action on her part. She could've at least pulled up the e-brake handle to stop him instead. That wouldv'e ended up better than what really happened.

Lotus Elise, Ariel Atom, Lotus Exige, etc
Yep light weight cars are terrible in the twisties. You should only use 5000lbs saloon cars when you go into the corners.
Even Ayrton Senna wasn't perfect

Ziptie's come in handy when a prostitute gets mouthy or reluctant

I like people who BUY a 10 sec car and then brag about it. Thats like hiring someone to bang your wife and then bragging about the kid

The audio file is pretty moving. It's a reminder of how quickly something can go bad. We don't get many street racing calls in my jurisdiction because we're more in the middle of the city. It's too bad he wasn't wearing his seatbelt
