cluster swap question

i just installed a white face cluster w/ tach everythings working but there is a red light above my gas gauge what is it?

I want to say that it's for the factory alarm somehow, but not entirely sure.

I believe it's basically telling you that you don't have a car alarm active. So I just removed that light since I don't ever plan to install an alarm in my car.

You hear about everyone getting their shit stolen from their cars?! Not such a hot idea. Before I even had anything put in my car, I had a Viper Alarm System installed.

Lol, I guess I didn't want an alarm at first beacuse my car used to be ugly, mixed colors, not lowered, not tinted, ugly interior, etc. But now that I put on rims, lip kit, tinted, painted, lowered, etc...I am startign to worry. I might get an alarm after all haha.

The red dot is for SKIM.

i was always told it was an ABS brakes warning light,,., if you dont have ABS when u install the cluster it will stay lit.. i just removed the bulb..

No it's definitely for SKIM. Has to do with the chip in our keys.

i haz srt4 cluster i just dont mind the brake/abs/red dot there.
makes no diff to me.

the red dot is for our keys.the black keys have a chip in them with a watch battery.one time i spilt atf in it and killed the key(54 bucks).so i put it in and the car will only start for 3 seconds and cut off.some people will even b**** cause their trunk key cant start their car.so i take it the cluster came off a neon with the key security system but yea just pop out the bulb.if you dont have the safety system then you wont need it....

another thing.when my car is started and running i cannot grind the starter by tring to start it again.another great safety system.

Should be the gray keys that have SKIM. Unless possibly they are aftermarket.
