Hvac Lighting

Post by heydockyle » Mon May 04, 2009 9:32 pm

Okay so I wanna do my HVac in blue. I've searched and have seen many many different bulbs used.

I'm looking at :
Neo - Wedge Instrument Panel Bulbs from autoillumination. Middle of Page.

NeoWedge series LED Lamp. Top of page

T1.5 series LED Twist Lock Lamp. Bottom of page

Which will work and would be the best?

actually there is only 1 bulb that anyone has used for the hvac, and thats the neowedge.

nobody has used the T1.5 because thats just the wrong type.. wouldnt even fit if you tried it.

I personally have the autoillumination ones (the first link in your first post). I like them. Light output isn't perfect, but with all the blue going on in my interior, it doesn't bother me that it's not perfect. I'll try and get some pics tonight (been needing some updated interior night shots anyway).

Well thats why I checked. Because on the website it says replaces #74 and thats what the hvac are and I read something that said someone used those.

Okay for the neowedges. SMD or non SMD? The SMD are supposed to be high powered?

You could run either or, doesn't matter SMD or non. But the 5mm neo-wedges are the right bulbs. The T1.5's have an improper base to run in our cars. While they may be #74 bulb replacements, the bases differ on these bulbs versus your typical 3157.
