Holy Carp! I'm not dead!

Post by FTWNeon » Wed May 06, 2009 10:27 pm

Surprise! Yeah I'm still around. Got a new job awhile back that was taking up alot of my time with traveling all over the country. We've slowed down a bit recently so I'm not getting the hours I used to.

Hadn't really touched the Neon in months until this past weekend. I was having problems with the suspension, the car wasn't very much fun to drive anyway. At this point I just want to get the car back on the road so I can drive it and enjoy it. I've ordered KYB struts and H&R springs that I'm currently in the middle of installing. I also think the clutch was starting to go after 116K, so I stopped into Modern while working in Houston and picked up a PT clutch and just installed it this weekend. it was an interesting install. Pulled the tranny off and the inside of the bellhousing was just covered in sludge. After some troubleshooting I believe oil was leaking in from the oil pan gasket and replaced that. Also removed the Maddog 72% shifter and I'm putting a stock SRT back in.

My plans for the car now are pretty much getting it to a nice drivable state with most the problems fixed and just running a bunch of NASA HPDE sessions and just learning to drive the car.

Also picked up a new ride last year that I've been having alot of fun with. 2005 Saab 92x Aero. And for those who have no idea what it is, take a look here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_9-2X Gave my dad the Legacy and after a few months he just traded it in for a '06 WRX.

Nice, well welcome to the club then!

15th huh? I'll be close but busy that weekend. I should be at Putnam Park either doing an HPDE or crewing for my friends Team.

Here's the Saab on Motorsport Silverstones

I think that thing wants an STi front end swap, and lose the side moldings. Looks good!

Heh, why thank you. I swear I will never do that again lol.
How's Washington treating you two? Been a few months seen I've been there, can't wait for some work to pop up there and go back.

Yeah, the door molding does need to go, as for the front end, no way. I love the Saab front end. Plus if I did it would need alot...bumper, headlights, hood, fenders. way too much.

Good, I think the snow has finally stopped for the year so I'm happy! As for an update (not sure when you disapeared) you can see in my sig that weno longer have the MS3 and instead have a Grand Cherokee. The sig is very old, the Jeep currently has a 3" lift and some nice black wheels. Sig Charger is also outdated Charger.

What part of Washington do you usually come to for work?

Also, do not touch the Saab's front end, it's perfect!

Last few times I had work up there I was in Seattle, Tacoma, and Fort Lewis.

Hooray for lifted Jeep!

The guy totaled my Neon.

I bought it back and started parting it out. :D

You've been gone too long. :beatstick: Nice Saab. That's the best looking way to buy a Subaru. I really like the gold wheels with the red.

Fucking nice car dude. Don't know if you were here, I sold my old NYG to Trinity, bought a sweet 98 coupe, modded it. 05 is still bone stock with no muffler.

I LOVE the saaburu's. I was sooooo close to getting one. I was upside down on my 05 at the time though. I kinda like the silverstones on the 92x......
