A little cruise and several batteries later...

Post by sidepipe87 » Sun May 10, 2009 2:14 am

Well I cleaned my car up today then decided to take a few pics with the new headlights. I even switched it up this time and used a second shoot location in addition to my reliable location which is right around the corner from my house. Wish I could find somewhere cool to take pics where I won't get harassed.

I stopped by a local Dodge dealer to snap some pics of this Challenger and they proceeded to harass me, and come outside and ask me if my car was leaking, then shut up when he realized I was parked over a fucking crater in THEIR parking lot... asshat...

Challenger R/T Heritage or something like that. yummmmm

Sorry for posting several pics that were very similar angles. couldn't chose which to post, so I posted most of them. I'm by no means a photographer so I apologize for the crappy quality. Let me know what you think

Uhm, cars are often found leaking at the dealership... THAT is WHY they are there!

Idiots! They should have been asking if you needed service.

looks good dude.

wingless, slammed, and lip spoiler would complement that set-up nicely. those stripes work on your car though. i'd leave them since that's the theme you're obviously going for.

exactly! I was thinking... wow, what a great way to treat customers or potential customers. They didn't know I wasn't one of their customers. They also didn't know it didn't matter anyway since my dad works at a different Dodge dealer that I obviously go to instead

Thanks a lot Scott. Hopefully next month it will be lowered. And yeah, The whole lip spoiler idea has been running through my head lately. I'd have to trade trunks with someone though because I don't wanna deal with filling the holes on this one and I'm not sticking plugs in them.

yeah, my solution for being wingless for the time being was to plug the holes. the overall solution is buying my carbon fiber trunk lid this summer. hah. have to get rid of those holes some how!

sounds like you're on the right track. i'll be looking forward to seeing the car lowered.

Dont lower it. The car looks good as-is. Every ricer on the road throws springs n their car and thinks it looks good. Be one of the few that keeps the stock ride height. Your struts will thank you.

lol. with struts designed for higher spring rates, he will be fine. provided he actually gets better struts. i agree that just lowering a car with springs on stock struts isn't a good idea, but it also depends on which springs you'd be going with. lower spring rates would be better, and may match the dampening of the stock struts, such as the mopar springs. lowering a car with springs isn't really rice...i'm lowered with springs, actually. but i have tokico illuminas. that's the difference. but not rice, for sure.

good call on the HP Blue's dude. you won't be disappointed, especially with the mopar springs. you'll find that those will match up nicely, and won't be super stiff.

Nice bud ^^>

Billm006: He could do coilovers, or springs w/ better struts. I'm not recommending he cut his springs and bounce all over the fucking road lol. I don't think there are many who would think his car wouldn't look even more badass being even a little bit lower.

The car is looking decent now.

Of course I say that now, but once it's lowered, I will say something else about it. :P

Im a tard? Says the dumbass from Florida. Have you driven on roads that get snow 4-5 months out of the year? Potholes suck and its worse with a lowered car. Besides lowered cars look like shit, but usually people just slap some springs on their stock struts and blow them out in in 100 miles. If you want your car to look like rice, be my guest. I enjoy my stock ride height :thefinger:

The op is only putting on mp springs so thats not that bad. I think your car looks great the way it is, but at least it isnt going down 2 inches. Also kudos for upgrading the struts. Im a little sour because when I bought my car the owner slapped some yellow springs on it and ruined most of the suspension. Ive replaced almost everything on the suspension and now it drives great.

no more flame wars in here plz, kthnx.

I would never change out springs to lower, stiffer ones and keep the stock struts. That's completely stupid in my idea. Why pay twice for a potentially dangerous maneuver (shitty eBay springs, etc.) I'm a firm believer in do it right, or just don't fucking do it.

Yes, it's gonna suck with all these potholes, snow, etc and being lowered. But to be honest, it really won't be THAT low. The tires I'm running are technically too tall so they RAISED the car. So in effect, these springs will only go a little lower than where it was. Mostly what it will do is close up the wheel gap

I like it and def lower it. Lowered cars look AND handle better; fact. I wont get all scientific on your ass lol.

It is very hard to find good places to take pics isnt it lol I understand completely! Car and locations look good regardless.

Also, I have found that when you are out taking pictures just say you are doing it for school. lol. Everytime someone has asked me not too I just basically told em to can it and I am doing it for college, which magically makes it all better most of the time.

So im a tard because I swapped the ghetto springs out of my car for srt-4 struts/springs? I also upgraded the sway bars as well. I guess I enjoy not scraping on driveways and being able to go through 12" of snow without getting stuck. I think lowered cars look like ass and drive like ass. Unless its done properly like mopar coilovers, or at least upgrading the struts on mopar springs.

What struts do you have? I dont see you mentioning you upgraded your struts. Just eibach sportlines. You didnt contradict yourself did you?
