Bringing this back from the dead...
I have been waiting for Summit Racing to deliver the wheels I ordered over a month ago from them.
They were these silver Raceline wheels in 17x7.5. I ordered them together with new lugnuts and stems only after they showed the wheels as being available for shipment the next day. So what do the asswipes do? Yeah, they ship the lugnuts and stems only and notify me that the wheels will be ready to ship in a few days. Every few days to a week they change the ship date, this has been going on for over a month and of course they charged my card so I get to pay for them already, the latest shipping notification they send says July 3rd, screw Summit.
So I was looking at wheels again and thinking it would be cool to have something that looked OEM. Something similar to the 03/04 Stratus R/T sedan alloy wheel or 5 spoke PT Cruiser wheels. I came across these and figured what the hell. This afternoon UPS dropped off 2 boxes at my house, they contain a brand new set of these wheels, mystery of these wheels solved If anyone cares.
Besides the stern logo etc. printed on the outside of the box, they have this info on one side:
The manufacturer painted this 'engrish' on them .
They were made in Japan by Hinodex, I don't know if that's good or bad. Hinodex wheel division went bust many years ago and they sold off Stern to ADR. ADR makes Stern wheels in China.
These wheels, even though they're brand new and in their original boxes, were manufactured in 1996. The place I got these from have others, but this was the only set in 5x100. Knowing my luck, I'll probably install these, drive through a bomb crater pot hole the next day and bend them.
