Trunk popper?

Post by vielecustoms » Thu May 14, 2009 6:57 pm

having a problem with my trunk popper. I have to try like 2 or three times (both the remote or the button in the glove box) before the trunk will actually release. the car used to have a SRT wing on it and I always thought it was just because of the added weight. I'm thinking that the solenoid may be the problem because I can hear it working each time I hit the button but the trunk is still latched, is there any way to adjust the solenoid or could the problem be with the latch?

Thanks for any help!

I think the solenoid is probably just getting worn out or something. Mine does it too, it just just doesn't open the latch quite far enough to unlatch it.

I guess I'll mess with it to see if I can make it any better... if not I'll just get an extra solenoid when I go to shave the doors

Yeah I just got an extra key made for like $5 so I can leave it in my car for when I need to open my trunk.

I had to adjust the striker on the car itself to get my trunk to work properly. Before Id have to pop it with my key fob and pull up on the lid at the same time.

BTW; I adjusted my striker down.
