i work at a dodge dealership and got to drive the 2009 challeger srt-8....the key has to be within a certain range of the car in order for the "sensor" programmed to the kfob to pick up the key and allow the push button to work. we found that this is a pain in th ass as the "sensor" dose not always pick up the key. also just for kicks we decided to throw the keys out of the car while it was on in park...yes the car does turn off when the keys arnt in range....we dare not try it in motion lol...

now im well aware of the sensor my question is can that be broken in or in other words disable the sensor???
Anything is possible. I have no idea how the system works or how it is wired, but if you had a diagram, someone could tell you how to get it working I'm sure.

Did you bid on it? I'm not at all familiar with the key-less start system but I was wondering if the item for sale was just the push button switch? Perhaps the sensor is another part inline with the switch but not incorporated into it.. then maybe you could use the switch with your current key less system in place of your current start button?? Just a thought..
