speedometer isnt working

What is the most common thing that causes that, the speed sensor is fucked up, a fuse or what?

hold in your odometer button as you turn you ignition to the on position to cycle the gauges, to make sure they're all working. .

if so. .

it could be a busted speed sensor, or in my case, the gear around the diff broke, so i lost the speedo gear and they're in my tranny floating around now.

Well i couldnt get all the gauges go crazy with the odometer button "trick", i cant remember how i used to do it, anyway when i turn the ignition on, the speedometer gauge do raise a little bit (try it on your neon), so the pointing needle IS working...

Im scared that the speed wheel were knocked off... wouldnt it be dangerous for that thing to be floating in the tranny i mean, what if a gear chews it or something?

well ..mine move all the way. from 0-140 for speedo, 0-8000rpm, empty to full, and cold to hot.

if yours moves a little bit then it doesnt sound like its working.

my ring gear and speedo gear have been floating in my tranny for months. it sucks not having a speedo, but i have no other issues.

Well the fuel or temperature doesnt go up either, probably im doing something wrong or its the AFX ecu that wont do that.

saw a post somewhere else, they said their cluster stop working, or was working erratically.. turned out the cluster had come loose from the plug... popped the dash, pushed it in tight.. and was good to go.... worth a shot...

You hold down the trip odometer reset button while turning the key on to do the needle dance, your speedometer should sweep across the face and your fuel and temp needles should go from bottom to top, if it dosen't do this, just check the connections. The speedo gear is plastic, so the tranny gears will just mangle it without damaging the internals, the filter will prevent it from going into the valve body.

sorry i didnt made an update about this, the speedometer suddenly started working, i guess the vibration unplugged the cluster and plugged it back in.

lol the speedo did the same thing again, it was dead and it started working suddenly, the funny part is that it quickly catched up the speed but in a counter-clockwise movement LOL.
