Adobe CS4 Licensing Question...

Sooo I have an opportunity to buy Adobe Creative Suite 4 Premium from my school for like $200 which is awesome in itself, but me being poor, I wanted to split the cost with her and register it on two computers. Can anyone tell me for a fact whether Adobe allows you to license the products to more than one computer. Thanks

I have Adobe CS3 on three of my computers with one code. I don't see why CS4 would be diffrent.

I need to upgrade!

Ok, cool thanks GreenNeons. I have a copy of PS7 that I'm not sure where I got... on one of my comps, and I don't have the installers to install it on my other computer, plus If I can get Dreamweaver and Illustrator and stuff for that price, that's awesome.

You should be able to install on at least 2 computers. They have different versions that have more seat licenses, but the minimum I believe is 2.

I got the full CS3 Suite with PS, AF, Premier, FW, SB, Flash and more, I only really use photoshop and flash, I'll learn Premier once I build my computer.

the ability to install it on more than one computer with the same serial number (GreeNeons03) does not make it legal or permitted... and i'm almost certain after reading some of the license info that 3 computers is a violation of the terms...

so since the OP is asking specifically whether adobe "allows" this........ the short answer is no, for 2 reasons..

1) any product that isn't specifically a VLK (volume license) will pretty much be limited to 2 legal copies, unless otherwise specified, to your home computer and -your- laptop or a second desktop that belongs to you. 2 copies still being owned and operated by 1 person, and not at the same time. that is the license.

2) since you are getting it through your school, at a discounted price, its adobe's school licensing program which is most likely even more limiting .. but i couldnt really find anything specific to the academic licensing terms...

no where does it allow you to give it to a second person to use.

even if you want to dual boot your computer, per the license agreement, you are supposed to buy 2 separate licenses.. one for each operating system... even if its only for you......... they really arent going to let you give it to another person to use with the same license.

--------- now, the unmoral side of it is, even if you do give it to another person to use youre not going to be "caught"...... since it could just as easily be your 2nd personal computer that it's installed on.

if your serial shows up all over the internet though and there are 10000's of people using it, then you might have a problem.

ok, yeah I wasn't sure if they "allowed" you to have a few registered copies since you DID pay for it. Greed is a wonderful thing. However, If it will work that is good enough for me.
