Post by Pablodragon » Tue May 26, 2009 7:27 pm

what's the best tool to use to trim carbon fiber?.. like the hard laminated kind... someone told me something that spins fast, like a dremel tool with a cut off wheel? yes?... no?

I would think that anything you can put on a dremel will get eaten up really fast.

Carbide or diamond would probably give you best results.

Dremel with cone bit. CF is pretty soft once you get into it. Helped cut some washer fluid holes with a friend once and it was like warm butter with a regular cone bit.

Yea dremel but use a diamond or carbide bit as mentioned before. Also do not stay in one spot too long as you will make a mess and chance ruining the part in other areas.

Im having fun trying out my kit with raw material and I can usually cut the ends of with a sharp exacto knife.
