Prothane Control Arm Bushings - where to get?

Post by jonnymopar » Wed May 27, 2009 8:31 pm

Does anybody know where to get the Prothane front control arm bushing set other than Modern Performance? I do like Modern and I've bought from them in the past, but $17 to ship a $35 part that you can stick in a padded envelope??

looks like summit only has Energy front control arm bushings.

plus, summit is the same way. every order gets a $10 or so handling fee, but the shipping is free. if you have other stuff to order it works out though.

I've ordered a few things from Never Enought Auto before. They're a pretty good company, and about 2hr from my house. It looks like they have the prothane kit HERE. I'm not sure what shipping is though.

So it's basically $8 for shippng; comparing to Modern.

When I ordered mine it cost me $45 shipped. Did they actually quote you $17 for shipping? When I order through them i do not use their internet ordering. I actually call my requests in. I dunno what happened here, but I've never found them to be unreasonable or even unreliable. Weird.

Unreliable, never. I've always had good luck with Modern. Granted, I've always ordered stuff that was a bit more expensive, so shipping didn't seem so bad. I haven't called them, but the online shipping quote was $17.07 after I entered my address.

I almost went with the Energy Suspension set, but I've been getting mixed reviews on it. Meanwhile, I haven't heard one bad thing about the Prothane set.

I'm going to check out all those links to see if there's somewhere I can get bushings for the Daytona and the Neon at the same time. They both need them badly.

I would not recommend the energy kit what so ever. Prothane is extremely easy to install and has been very reliable whereas the energy was not.

That's some of what I'm hearing. As far as difficulty of installation, I don't care about that. I've got an arbor press and all the tools to do it the right way. The premature failures that I'm hearing about are what's keeping me from the Energy kit.

We have a winner. I got my hopes up when I saw 87-91 Daytona listed, but they only had sway bar kits, no bushings. Hey, score for $42. Many thanks to Chad.

I guess their website is still messed up. Just for the hell of it, I put a set of those bushings in my shopping cart and checked out and the cheapest shipping option was $11.81. Moot point now anyway since the bushings were installed back last June.
