Projector Question

Post by Sykora » Fri May 29, 2009 12:54 am

I was wondering what I needed exactly for Halos/projectors to work. I've read the sticky on projectors but I still don't get completely all what I would need for these. What all do I ned for the to work. What is the difference between halos and projectors and HIDs etc etc?

I like these...

u dnt need anyting extra, just splice the wires for the halos and leds. now for hid kit. it throws out a better output then the bulbs it comes with and u will need a relay kit. i dnt have a night pic but hid is the sex

the halos, aka angel eyes, are the glowing circles around the lights....... like you see on BMW's... most people connect them to the parking light +12v so when the parking lights are on the halos are on also

if you get ones with the LED's, you can either not use them or most people put them on with the blinkers...

the projectors are the actual lamp.... where the light comes out...... they are supposed to refocus the light or whatever ..... they are the things that look like eyeballs

HID's are a high intensity bulb with xenon gas and are much brighter (and whiter, or whatever color you choose) than halogen bulbs....... but the HID's are not required to use the projectors, they are just an additional accessory.. and as mentioned you'd want a relay harness to run the HID ballasts from.

^^ I've read the sticky- I just didn't quite get it or understand which ones have it or if the lights I wanted came with them.

Your projectors come with halogen bulbs. A HID replacement swaps out one or both of the bulbs with a high discharge bulb with accompanying ballast.

Your projectors didn't come with a relay harness as they were made for halogen bulbs originally. The HID bulbs require the relay harness due to the high start up current if you don't want to fry your MFS.
