Pulled over by state trooper.

Post by MyNeonSaysHi » Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:09 pm

Hahaha this made me laugh.

Was going to work minding my own business driving the speed limit in broad daylight on the interstate. I see a state trooper a couple cars back, he then swoops in behind me & flashes his cherries. "Here we go again I thought"

He looked like he was going to cry for some reason, his eyes were all watery and shit. He tells me to roll up my window halfway. Which I do.

He puts his tint tester on my window and I tell him "I got the tint years ago and told the shop I wanted legal which is 35%." He then shows me the meter. 31%. I am like "Come on and chuckle a little." He then asks me to roll down my rear windows I tell him I can't. "I don't have rear power windows sir, its a neon, they are crank." He tells me not to worry about it and asks for my liscense and proof of insurance. Which I give to him. He comes back a bit later and gives me a warning for the tint.

I thought that was very nice of him.

Well that was cool of him. I can't believe he busted your balls over 35% tint though! That's not very dark at all. 35% + factory 'tint' may put you at 31%. I'd think you could argue that in court if you got a ticket and check to see if that thing has been calibrated, like in PA anyway, the speed trap lines have to be measured by a survey crew and if they aren't you can get the ticket thrown out.

Pretty cool of the cop. I still don't understand how my friend gets around in his Camaro with 5% tint without getting in trouble.

Duh its a Camaro we all know Camaros and Mustangs get treated with royalty by the cops. J/k of course.

I have never had problem with my window tint ever on any of my cars. This is the first time ever and its a light tint.

I am just glad I didn't get a fix it ticket and I can keep my tint.

I hear horror stories where people have to tear it off right in front of the cop. Now that would suck.

 I bet he felt sorry for you because of not having power rear windows.

I like cops who give warnings. At least they're nice enough to cut people a break every now and then.

Shit here in CA front tint is illegal unless it's factory (built into the glass). I've had mine at 35% for close to 3 years now and I haven't heard about it once. And I've been pulled over for various other things (no tickets) so they've had their chance. Weird how that works huh?

that was nice of him a state cop did the same thing to me with my tails being tinted but he later explained after chatting he used them as an excuse to check for alcohol on my breath lol

and the Tint meters in PA are inadmissable unless they can show proof it was basically just calibrated since they arent as accurate they should be

Yeah. I guess the cops around here are lenient on that kind of stuff. I knew a few Honda's that ran around for a while with their mufflers removed and they didn't get in trouble either. One did get a ticket for 63 in a 60 though.
