Gauge wiring and positioning...

Post by mopar4life » Tue Jun 02, 2009 6:36 pm

Im looking into gettin a water temp, volt and oil pressure gauge for my SRT-4. Now where should I run the power to them from, and where should the metering ends go. Its going to be on a 3 gauge A pillar pod. What are yalls thoughts?

As far as power you wanna tap into your main ignition wire. I forgot the exact color I think its blue. This wire should meter 12 volts during crank. As for the ends it all depends on what kind of gauges your running. They should have their own sending units. That is where the readings come from.

Thanks man, sending units is the word I was lookin for lol. Ive wired gauges into race cars before but the SRT seems to be a little different as the car has factory sending units running to where mine need to go.

yea that works as well. Good point

As for the senders your gonna wanna try and run maybe both together or some of your idiot lights wont work. I would suggest doing a search onher. As for the oil temp if you want an easy way out that works Glowshift makes an adapter that goes inbetween your oil filter that has four oulets for hooking up just about anything. I thinks its like 15 bucks. I have had mine for about a year now and had no issues
