Stock radio swap and cruise control ?s

Gonna have a factory radio w/6 disc changer from an '03 available very soon. Will it swap directly into an '01?
If not, what do I need to get it wired in? I'll also have a Kicker sub for the same car - would I need a harness from a later model SRT4?

Also, do '01 ACRs have allowance in the PCM for cruise control?

Unfortunately, that radio will not swap in, at least not directly. The 2001 has two connectors on the back of the radio where the 2003 has one connector with smaller pins. Physically, it will bolt in, but the wiring is different. I don't know if they sell an adapter or if you'll have to cut and splice the 2002+ connector in. However, the CD changer *might* connect to the back of your 2001 radio if it has the changer controls.

As far as the subwoofer, I'm wondering the same thing because I'd like to add one myself.

Could maybe make my own adapter with the plug from an '03 harness - just need an adapter to fit the '01 harness to go between the harness and the '03 radio. I wonder if Crutchfield would have something like that...they do: adapter

Anyone have access to the pin-out diagram for the backs of the '01 and '03 factory radios?

My son has his Crutchfield plug-in from when his '99 Sport was totaled, so all I have to do is "aquire" an '03+ plug from the salvage yard

That's about all you need to do it and have it 100% reversible.

if you cut a part of the wiring incl the conector outof a car from the junkyard, you can solder them on you original so you can leave the stock 03 connector.
