RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! lol jk

Dont be silly, katrina was so hard because of the altitud of the city, you are totally safe just put your car away from trees and dont let the windows unprotected and you will be fine :)

Yeah, really.. Stay safe and do whatcha' gotta' do, man. Take care and be smart. :)

BTW, it looks as though it's currently a Category 5, but is supposed to drop back down to a 4 before it hits land... Regardless, it's still a strong hurricane... Again, be safe and we'll talk to you more when it's all said and done!

I just got back form putting up boards on the windows on our beach house. With it being a CAT 5 storm we dont expect the house to be there Monday but we shall see. Hopefully our surburb house will be okay. Not evacuating from there cause its just not me to leave my home cause of a storm. Ill let you all know what happens.

I've got friends in Corpus, and it's not looking good. I hope and pray everyone down there stays safe, and takes advantage of the early warnings.

yes it is veering some but not engough to make that much of a difference. it wont be as bad as Katrina because of one fact . We have a positive altitude(sp). Corpus is not going to get anything but a rain band or two so thats where I would be heading if i was going to leave. Yesterday we put boards up on our beach house and one of the guys down there painted on the board covering his top window "Blow Me Rita" anyways we shall see whats up in a couple of days.

most hurricanes cannot hold a lower enough pressure to stay a cat 5 they usually bounce back and forth betwen 4 and 5 so hopefully when the eye makes landfall it will be a 4 instead of a 5. Normal atmosphereic pressure is at 1000 millbars and the huricane is bounceing anywhere form 890 to 895 which is very bad. the lowest ever recorded is 888 I believe. but the more n orth it moves the better for us cause I hate to say it but hopefully it will go into NO cause NO is already messed up and that would ease a lot of costs for the govt.

science was always my strong point in school but the fact that they have been repeating it on every channel in houston all day long(even the spanish channels) kinda helps too.
