The short version is that it's got rod knock and needs an engine (a rebuild is way complicated compared to a Neon), but the rest of the car is in great shape. We've replaced a lot of parts and I'll be sorry to see it go, but I've got so much money tied up in the thing over the last few years that it just isn't worth it to me to stick another engine in it.

You forget, this isn't a Neon. It's a fully-loaded, fully-power-optioned, heated leather seat, AWD tank with almost no rust or body blemishes. Add in the work that's been done recently--$500 suspension, $300 in wheels and tires (which was a smoking deal by itself), $550 transmission service and a $1000 is a deal and a half.
