AFX 55mm throttle body....

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

I couldn't find much info on them, and the one thing I saw was saying it was crap. Now Im not 100% sure I can use it though, is there a difference between atx and mtx TBs?

Yeah the newer TB's are all the same from what I know. IIRC some first gen ATX models came with a slightly larger TB.

Have you received it yet?

If not, it may have been a mistake just for ordering it from Howell

Are you putting it on a 1gn? Or fabbing an adapter?
I would buy the BBK 56mm Ford TB from Summit racing if I was going new. Either way you would need an adapter for 2gn, but the Ford adapter would prolly be the easier to fab.

AFX 55mm Bored Throttle Bodies Talon 1995 to 1999 2.0 Non-Turbo 55mm AFXDSTB95S Bore yours to 55mm $100 turn around is approximately 2 weeks.
I find it interesting they are selling knock offs of Crane cams under their brand name.
AFX SOHC Camshaft 158-0010 Dodge Neon $344.00
AFX SOHC Camshaft 158-0012 Dodge Neon $344.00

Techincally from what I have read from Gary Howell, the 60mm Throttlebody is overkill for any Naturally Aspirated build. He had the most gain from the 55mm Throttlebody, with his All-Motor build. The 60mm+ is mostly for Boosted builds. (but the 60mm is more readily available nowadays.)

Figures, my n/a Neon has a 60mm and my boosted 2.4 has a 52mm. I wish I could switch them. However, I haven't had any issues with the 60mm on my car for over 80,000 miles.

To be honest FWIW, when I had the 65mm, it pulled harder at 85+ mph, than the 60mm. Real world pwns dynos and math.

The 60 is more driver friendly tho.
