The big Question

Post by v95 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:53 pm

so here is the scoop I need some help my mother is offering me a great deal right now and i'm kinda iffy on it

So recently I paid my uncle some big money to fix my vr4, about 8 grand to get it fixed and up graded to a stage 2 with stg 3 suspension and new internals its like i built a whole new car, (will not vr4 for another two weeks). my trade In value is only 10,500 is what the dealer is offering me right now. my mother is offering me a new deal which is I trade in my vr4 and get another neon for daily driving purposes, and she will buy me an srt4 or a cobalt tc or ss when I graduate which is like two years left on my five year degree.

ps I can not affoard insurance on srt4 and go to school. only other problem other wise I'd keep my vr4

Oh and if anyone knows some with about 200 miles or less of jerzey who would be selling an rt let me know cause that might seal the deal only key is it needs to have less than 60XXX on it
I Hate Your Neon!!!

you can not imagine immensity of the fuck that I do not give about your comment.

I'd do it. Nothing wrong with a standard 2.0. I wish I had a beater to drive around in so I could garage my R/T and work on it. Then when you get an SRT-4, you can do all sorts of shit with it and still have something to putt around in.

Only problem is the insurance, but once school is done that might take care of itself.

Eh, a lot of shit can change in two years. Good luck finding a good condition SRT-4 in that amount of time as well. Keep the VR4...screw that waiting game.

Keep VR4, buy a beater, swap srt-4 engine. Done.

And then if you need money later you can sell the VR4.

I win.

I had a VR-4. Nothing but trouble.
I beat on my srt-4's like they owe me money. However, you're in college, and pulling p#ssy is important. And dd'n a neon will gets you none.

Tough decision.

Save your money. Buy something you love. That way you won't have to make deals, and it will be YOUR car.

I drive a neon and just graduated from college... I did pretty well. I think you'll be fine. Especially since you've got so much money invested in it I say keep it.

About a week ago this girl at a party said she would *AHEM* if I let her drive my car. Needless to say, I did and she didn't drive the car.

Of course this was in the SRT-4, not a neon.

Girls are morons and don't usually care what you drive unless it smells or looks like total ass.

You've invested $8K and the dealer will give you $10.5K as a trade in? That nets you $2.5K for the $8K you're investing in the VR4. Welcome to my world! I say keep the VR4 since it'll be driveable and heavily modded in 2 weeks. Once you graduate you can just buy a used SRT-4 regardless. Like LS1 said, get what you want and be happy. I just did, and I am!

+10000

I wish i would of realized that a loooong time ago.

To the OP...

I realize an SRT4 is a car you really want, but you'd be amazed how your tastes will change over time. By the time you graduate you'll be making better money, and be able to afford something nicer and more mature. Not to mention your insurance will be much cheaper too. (Assuming you keep your nose clean) Or instead of blowing it on a car, you may want to use what you saved up to get a house or something worth while!

I agree with the others in keeping the VR4, get a beater, and just enjoy life over the next few years!! Nothing wrong with saving up money. But if your priorities change, and they will, you'll still have your VR4 to get your thrills!

How about I trade u a beater neon for ur vr-4 and once u swap it we'll race and ur gonna wish u kept it lol. I know vr-4 and I know they are expensive to build but so is any other car. I Wouldnt sell it and I would wait especially since u have already put so much into it.
