Overdue Wedding Pictures

Post by racer12306 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 9:46 pm

Finally got our wedding pictures from the photographer, only took 5 weeks

Comment on the cake picture, no one told us that there was a piece of cardboard under the lower real layer of cake, so the cake go blown apart with the server

The last few are from my mom's or sister's camera. The cuff links and tie clip were my grandfathers that he got from the company he worked for.

Should have gone with the catering company my wife manages. :D Not that we are anywhere even remotely close to you. We don't believe in putting anything on the table that isn't edible.

^---That was my wedding cake. I have more pictures from my wedding if you are interested. The location for your wedding looks beautiful.

And most of all congratulations! :)

He dad took care of all the wedding expenses. The rings were being financed for 18 months interest free, but then the new home tax credit took care of those.

The wedding was in the Philadelphia area, so that was way too far away from you guys  .The flowers were done by her sister inlaw, so that is why there were flowers on the napkins and such. That is the same way the restaurant is (people who catered), everything that comes on the plate is edible including the flower.

Thats a pretty insane cake. Our cake was expensive enough, I could only imagine how much that would have cost.

She loves it too. We were messing around at a Jared's (note to guys, don't mess around in a jewelry store) and she put the setting on and when the guy plunked a diamond in there she teared up, shit

It's a euro shank ring meaning it has a squared back so it doesn't spin around on your hand too much. Matching up wedding bands is a royal PITA because there are many different styles so the bands were custom made.

Since no one signed the guest book  and there were a few people we noticed weren't there, I'd have to guess 100-105 people. The bottom 3 layers of the cake were fake. She was a cake that when you walked in the room you said, HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT THAT CAKE.

It was very good. I can't wait for the 1 year (yes, she is making me wait til the 1 year) to have the top layer. It's chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream icing.

Thanks for all the wishes

Yea, if we both didn't work for the catering company my wedding cake would have been pretty pricey. At least $2,000.

But damn, it sure was good. :D

Is this some type of tradition? I've never heard of this before. Where is the top layer stored until then? I'm intrigued....one of you...do tell :)

Certainly is tradition. Can't remember the reason.

We stored ours in the the walk-in freezer at my wife's work :D.

We stored ours in the freezer. I was quite impressed as well, it tasted almost just like it did on our wedding day.

The top tier is known as the "anniversary tier."

It is super wrapped and froze until the one year anniversary.

The tradition is probably as old as weddings. Some places give you a coupon to redeem at the one year so the cake is fresh, but if done right it is as good as the wedding day.
