Wiring question

Post by Themaggots » Wed Jun 17, 2009 5:43 pm

Let's say that I am going to install a rather huge sound system in my trunk. And to feed the said system I need to install nothing less than 1/0 Gauge wire. Where would I pass this wire through?

I know that air suspension guys have to pass those air hose somewhere, which are pretty big and somewhat flexible. How do they route them?

if you cant find an existing hole in the firewall thats large enough, youd have to drill a hole in the firewall and pass it through.

i have 2 runs of hyperflex 0g. i drilled two holes in the passenger side of the firewall as far up as i could go and used $2 pcv grommets from any auto parts store. there is a big blank spot over there and it makes getting them from the bay to the cabin a snap. then just run down the passenger side to the trunk and run audio lines on the driver's side.

a good thing to do before you start is to pull out the trunk carpet carefully and see where all the wires are passing through for your tail lights, rear deck, and power trunk. This will give you an idea of how and where to run the wires.

Check out my How-To on battery relocation, IIRC I explain how I ran the cables. You could easily apply the same method for audio cables.
