Steering wheel exchange 00 vs 05

Post by LyricsNLines » Sun Jun 21, 2009 2:53 pm

On a recent yunkyard run I ran across the new design steering wheel for the neon 05 year and I'm looking to swap into my 00 neon. I did notice on my 00 neon the cruise control buttons are on the steering wheel itself where as on the 05 neon steering, the cruise control settings are controlled from a lever on the right side. Any information on the "exhange" information would be appreciated.

The new style wheel would need to have the metal mounting points for the cruise switches. I'll pull the pad off my SRT wheel and see if it has them.

And before anyone worries about the fact that SRTs didn't have cruise, the wheel structure is the same as the non-SRTs :)
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Sorry, no provisions made into the wheel structure for mounting the pods. You could mount them directly to the back cover, but it wouldn't be nearly as secure.
