Well, for one thing, welcome to 2gn! :-D

Second, not to seem rude or anything but, if you are paralyzed from the waist down how do you drive?

Oh, and to answer your question: swapping an Auto PT 2.4T is a route that some people go. I'm not entirely sure but I think a 3 speed ATX from an early Neon would also hold up if you went SRT.

i can drive with hand controls but the only way can do that is if the transmission is an auto but i control both brake and gas with my left hand its really fun to drive like this to tell ya the truth.

if i went wit any those ideas would they need to be upgraded to handle the power of the engine? the transmission is the hardest thing to figure out but i cant wait to get it figured out and start doin my swap

Well, the PT Auto is built to handle it. The Neon 3-Speed, while not built for the SRT, I thiiiiink can handle the power from the 2.4. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

That's pretty cool that you are determined enough to try to drive again. Major props to you, sir.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a bud die last year after rolling his srt. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and his parents are fixing the car for his little brother. WTF???

OP, good luck with your build.

How are you planning on doing the hand controls? I assume you're having the work done for you, since you surely can't do much of the physical work in your condition. Those hand controls are probably expensive I'd imagine.

DCR ATX = old school FWD modded 3speed
You can build it yourself if you read up on the old FWD turbo dodge info
