DEPO Projector Head Lights

Post by DaShukSXT23 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 2:03 am

http://www.modernperformance.com/depo-p ... -1900.html

These finally came in tonight so I put them on the car. Only thing is I hate the "yellowish" light from the 55 watt standard bulbs that came with them. I ordered the Super White 70 bulbs(had them in my stock headlights and they were nice) with the lights but must have been mistaken because I thought Modern installed the lights for you, instead they sent them to me separate.

Does anyone have these lights? I wanted to take out the 55s and put in the 70s, but the area you would put the bulb in is sealed off and there is one universal connector for both the hi and lo beam. It looks like you might be able to remove it to get to the bulb which I assume is the case, but I'd like to hear it from someone who has done it before so I don't break anything.

You just pull the rubber grommet off and there will be a metal tab. It works like a spring, you push it down and pull it out, then the bulb will be free. You will understand how to put power to the bulb as soon as you pull it out.

Hey there, I got the same lights a while back with the 70W bulbs, and tho they are brighter I found that they didnt go very far in reggards to going down the road. least to say I was a bit dissapointed.

Also, when modern says "upgrade bulbs installed" they mean "installed in shipping box" but they are easy to swap :)

Did you try adjusting the bulbs up some? Or are they adjusted right but just not bright..?

I figured it out, just had to pop off the covers on the back of the headlight and then you have to remove the bulbs that come stock on them. The stock bulbs are crap, but once I got the 70 watt bulbs in it they look much better. I just don't like the "yellow" look of the 55s. I realized too that they put the same bulbs in for the "high-beams" so I am going to have to order another set or find some at the store.

Like I said...lol...

I too was not impressed by the stock bulbs that came with them, that is why I am using HIDs. Much better output. :D

I had them for a while. Stuck 4300K HID's in them and output is OK, but nothing like you would get from a decent retrofit.

There weren't quite so bright as the picture, but you get the idea.

I love that pic with you sittin in the beam lol.
I agree totally tho, the vvme.com kit for 65 bux is great for the low beams, then drop the 70W as the high beams to flash idiots and away you go lol.
