We have snow balls fights, and eat poutine , eh

The original name for Canada, dreamed up by a parliamentary committee in London, was "Cold North Dominion," but that waas too long, so they abbreviated it C.N.D. The King's Royal Governor presented the new name to the inhabitants, and they didn't say a word. Just looked at him.

"Well, what do you think?" asked the Royal Governor?

"C., eh?" said the first fellow, and just looked at the Governor.

"N., eh?" says the second guy.

"D., eh?" says a third one. Then silence.

"Hey," says the Governor. "I like that. It's a helluva lot easier to pronounce when you spell it that way."

So that's how Canada got its name

Woot Canada!

Aww, the good ol American boys remembered about us. It warms the cockles of the heart.

We pretty much do the same thing you guys do the 4th of July. No better way to celebrate the birth of your nation than by blowing up a small part of it

Last night we got smashed, today we bbq. Take in some festivities and fireworks :friday:

Thank you... my American friends south of the border! :D :D

What do we do to celebrate Canada Day?

-I had a call from my mom in the hospital recuperating from hip replacement surgery... that made my day as I knew she was doing pretty well to initiate the call and she sounded very chipper.

-After that I changed the plugs in the Neon.

-Then I went for a ride around town where I noticed it was very quiet out... and stopped for a shawarma.

-Then I came home and started to clean out the trunk of the Neon in preparation for a trip up north to see mom on Saturday.

-Now I am back at home on the job. Yes, I work from home and will be working until 10:30pm this evening.

That is my Canada Day this year. I am more thankful that everything is going well for my mom than anything right now.

Wow, sounds like a busy day. Hopefully your mother is doing well!

Tonight, I drink Molson.

No, you drink Molson's second rate crap for export to America. Shit is not the same as the Canadian stuff.

[rant]Dang it, I sure miss Canada. Well, southern Ontario to be more specific (okay... TORONTO!). I haven't been across the border in nine years so I am completely out of the loop as to what is going on there (my subscriptions to Maclean's and Canadian Geographic ran out years ago and I stopped renewing my membership in the CCMA shortly after that). I used to be more in touch when I had satellite since DirecTV carried CBC Newsworld but I can't afford that anymore. :cussing: [/rant]

Really? Hmm... I'll have to ask a certain someone coming to Carlisle if he can get me some of the real stuff. I'd be curious to try it.
