Laws are laws, you can't pick which ones you follow.

ya as much as i dont want to be i am usually respectful and polite to the officers.. one thing slipped out yesterday when the older guy was lookin at everything i was talkin to one of the younger officers.. and i was just pissed by then and i said something was crap.. but i held in my frustration till they were done.. then i walked around for a bit and blew off some steam so i could drive again..i dont blame them for this.. at all its their job.. i just think that the rules or some of them were pretty stupid and pointless..

Regardless if the rules are stupid and pointless...they are the rules. This is one of the reasons that I make sure when I put new stuff on the car that it comes with the paperwork or a card showing that it is street legal and meets all the regulations. Then I keep this info in my glovebox with my insurance and tag registration. It's more fun when they try to pull what they did to you and I whip out the paperwork showing them it's all legal and then they get all frustrated about it.

As far as I know you didn't have to pop your hood. They asked me to do that one time(I know the GA laws might be different) and I told them to piss off and get a warrant. Guy tried to pull me over for my exhaust and then after I showed him the paperwork he just got mad and tried to find whatever he could. The cops here in GA are nazis and profile tuners, but thankfully we don't have all the crazy regulations that California has. They like to pull you over and harass you, but normally I just stay chill and once they pull my record and see I haven't had a ticket in 13 years they normally drop the act. I think they just assume anyone who drives a modded car is a 17 year old ricer who thinks they are hot sh*t.

This thread should just be locked after this post quoted post.

You broke the law, the cop called you out on it. He did his job. You were not "fucked by the man." You got caught. When I lived in California I did the speed limit when I drove my GSX on the street because I knew that if I got pulled over they would probably take the car and I didn't want to do anything that would risk unnecessary attention.

Learn from your mistakes, because after all they are your Mistakes. Pay your fine and move on.

Oh and there's NEVER a good reason to go 90+ on public streets and going that fast is just asking for trouble.

What does that mean?

Are you saying you cannot own a sport compact and not drive like a dickhead? or are you trying to talk shit about the Evo?

I autocross and road race. I do not drive like an asshole on Public roads. Street Racing is a crime.

why would i talk shit? there was a smile there...:)

and you sir, have never street raced? not doubting you. just seems less realistic.

and anyone can own a sport compact and drive normal. seeing as i didnt refer to driving dumb or anything, i dont see why you brought that up. i said what i said because a) i love the lancer b) it's way past capable of going 90 on a public road and c) i wasnt saying you'd be in the lancer thats going 90+

Mox, he's just saying a lot of people with fast cars drive like assholes, relax it's just a dumb joke.

Don't make me put you back in your cage.

OP, well... you are a fucking idiot for doing 92 on the highway. But you seem to be realizing you are a fucking idiot and not complaining about it, so that's all I have to say.

Oh and,

I engaged in a few stop light jaunts when I was young and stupid. But when a couple friends collide and hit trees and die street racing it kinda takes the "fun" out of it. I do my racing on the track, I have an SCCA license for a reason.

Your comment can be taken several different ways, none of them are complimentary. Forgive me for being inquisitive.

There i said it. What do you expect them to do when you were going 92 mph? Just let you go with the speeding ticket....They are already going to make some money off you why not find more to cite you on? I say you deserved it.

I think the older you get.. the more responsible you get when you are driving, thats why insurance goes down drastically when you hit 25.

Also realizing what the consequences are for speeding with the huge fines. $$$ Makes me think twice before going WOT.

I think the best bet is to get into auto-X/roadcourse then you can drive as fast as you want.
