I change my plugs in the spring and again in the fall... but that is just me and I believe my schedule is excessive according to the maintenance schedule.

Edit: my camaro has 2+ year old spark plugs in it, they're fine. i think the number 8 plug is actually 7 years old, because fuck dropping a crossmember to replace a plug.

Leave them in your car until you start to misfire FTW!

actually no need to change the spark plug unless something bad happened..

still, spark plugs are not that expensive. for NGK vpower it is only less than 10 bucks for 4...

Ive always cleaned em off with carb cleaner in the race car. Buyin NGK race plugs for a 440 is a fortune....Though my 383 truck is startin to miss....looks like I get to blow 30 bucks on plugs again woot!

Wires are recommended on 60,000 intervals.

I really don't see why people change plugs so often. Its recommended every 30,000 miles.

I change them because it's cheap. My dad said he used to clean his old plugs with a tooth brush and some gasonline when he was pretty poor and in the navy.

Military people do some whack shit when they're first in.

I also change them because they are cheap, gives me the opportunity to ensure the gap is right... and it gives me the warm fuzzies.

My dad used to be always changing the plugs on his 440, but he was worse about it that I am... he would keep every set of plugs he took out while I toss the old ones.

I also don't like leaving them sit for too long in the head should they get difficult to remove. I do use a thin coating of anti-seize but still.
