I ended up with my 2002 Chrysler neon lx looking for something more fuel efficient than my cammed 1999 4.0 Cherokee that at best gets 13mpg. Being a mopar guy working at a dodge dealer as an apprentice I wanted to find a neon, well just my luck would have it a customer came in with a silver 2002 neon with as the work order said "a clacking sound coming from engine, runs rough" well apon starting it it was evident the engine was fried, and it was....number 4 rod had went through the pan along with all the oil, long story short customer was too cheap to put an engine in it,left the car with us to donate to a junkyard, and I ended up with it for free, dropped a motor in and did a bunch of other work for under 1500 to make it drivable, now I got a neon =D just starting out in the neon world.

I acquired my neon by accident really a month or so ago... I saw the neon across the street being put on a car dolly and I decided to help him get rid of the POS. lol. (I hated Neons) He told me the motor and trans were new, but the trans would not shift... and the place he took it did not warrant the work on the trans since it was out of the 30 day warranty. Kinda messed up. (I also have the receipts) A small conversation with the guy and it was mine. I paid a little more than the crushers were going to give him for it so he was happy and I was unsure. Got it home and replaced the Transmission Control Module and it has been good to me since then. Lots of more work has gone into it since the PO was a retard, but my opinion has changed about hating them. I can now say I got a good car at a good price. lol. I also saved a neon from being crushed and feel good it lived.

first car was a 98' Highline that I got from my uncle. Was his wife's old car and they showed it no love. Left it outside, keys in the ignition, windows down all the time. ALL THE TIME lol
Gave it to me, didn't make me pay for it since I had put the amount they wanted for it into the car within the first few months lol
...sold it, got an 01 Intrepid. a month later, the motor in the Neon blew smh lol
In January of this year, I was blessed with the one I have now. Only paid $500 and it's the best running car I've ever owned...
Thank GOD!

All it needed was a radiator and wheel bearing!

You should just put that in your signature. It would save you from having to include it in half of your posts.FlexdXJ wrote:I still hate Neons...

can't stand to look at it, but it performs so well, doesn't want to get rid of it either.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Switched up jobs, the new job required travel (approx 200-300 miles a day) to different client sites. I didn't want the miles, nor to pay for gas for the Ram the expense check would cover just my gas if that. So I started the car hunt, and shortly into it remembered I had a neon way back when...why not get another they're cheap, reliable and here I am.
