i had a tranny place do it, and i'm glad i did. :P

The Valve Body was said to work only for 95-2000 trannies, however they got it to work with my 2001. Apparentely there was something that needed to be plugged up in order for it to work with the 2001.

I had to call Turbo Action to find out what to do. :P

I bought one of these as well... U can get it at summitracing.com. I installed myself. Its a number 1 buy for anyone fixing up a 00-02 atx. Install only took 1.5 hours. And its cheaper then the valve body that modern sells cant beat that. Only downside is it doesnt come with the tranny filter but that can be bought for 10$. Also the pan gasket that comes with it is cork so id recommend using the one that comes with the filter. A+++

It turns your Auto into a backwards clutchless stick...

3rd is 1st gear
2nd is 2nd
1st gear is 3rd...

Am I right?

I have had one for almost 3 years now. Combined with a tranny cooler it will prolong your racing experience. 3 years of thrashing on the slushbox and it still slaps me into my seat. :D Looking forward to my new project though 8)

Nothing bolts up. I did it myself in under an hour. Just pop the shift cable off the top of the ATX, take the retaining clip off. Drain ATX fluid from pan. Remove pan. Unbolt stock valve body. Pull out valve body. Install new Reverse Manual same way. Also make sure your line pressure is set correctly. While your in there to set your bands. Bolt RMVB in and isntall pan. Add fluid and go for a drive. Remember to shift cuz it won't shift for you. It's hard for me to remember exactly what all I had to do to install. There's a detailed write up on the org.

It will only work on 3 speeds. As far as Neons a concerned.
Prolly everything else, but I really can't say for sure.

No. I'm sure with enough redesigning/rewiring of the solenoids you could do it, but it still wouldn't shift any better.

do you know if anyone has ever done this or just taken a regular one and mounted it on a 4 spd auto to see what would happen?

The 4 speed (41te/40te) has no valve body. At least in the form that hydraulic, non electronic controlled ATX's use.

The solenoid pack on the side (car's front) is the "valve body"
I doubt anyone has been motivated enough to attempt this. There just isn't any performance, or durability to be gained from it. And it would be a lot of brain strain, just to be different.
