Who would win? Place your bets
Ok. My gf just did a motor swap in her car. And will get it back from being tuned and dynoed today. These are the numbers she threw down. And some facts. Who do you think will win? BMW is mine the civic is hers.
1996 Honda Civic 2 door:
B20 swap.
Full interior.
Stage 2 clutch I believe
5 speed FWD
HP: 183
Tq: 141
1993 BMW 325IS 2 door:
Stock I6.
Full interior(heated leather bitches)
5 speed RWD
HP: 189
Tq: 184
Basic sets of tires on both. Nothing fancy. She has some pretty light wheels. Mine are the factory 16in. Neither of us are "pro" drivers per say. I have never really actually launched a stick car before. Don't have alot of 5 speed time under my belt. But she doesn't either. I would say we are about both the same when it comes to driving skill.
Who would win?
I am going to guess it is a VERY close race. But I think she has me due to weight. so I will give the victory to her. But by a vag hair I will lose.

What is the weight of each car? Sure the HP is mighty close, but you have 40lb's of tq on her. In your car, I'd launch around 2700-3500. Her car, launch at 4500 or so. B20's can be might fast with boltons and whatnot. I knew a guy that had a B20 swap in a CRX that went 13.50's.

So many neons so little time.

I'd say it would have a lot to do with weight and gearing. The civic surely has both of those stats in the bag, which would probably give it the advantage. Hondas are geared well from the factory, and I would almost guarantee that it has a couple hundred lbs on the BMW.

I'm saying Bimmer by a hair just because of the torque difference. I think you'll get off the line much quicker than her.

A 1/4 mile race would hardly require much top end gearing... I assume they're not doing 60-100 freeway pulls, but hey I could be wrong.benzsxt wrote:BMW!! You have a whole lot more top end gearing. There is no Autobahn in Japan!!!

WE plan on running for sure. Should be interesting. Probably will do freeway pulls too. But I am going to bet she will def have me there.

This is a pretty balanced vote here! Can't wait to see who's right!

Probably quarter. Our track is down right now as it is getting resurfaced. So once she is back up and running we will probably go there for a true legit race. I don't street race and endanger peoples lives so.
