i need help...
i need help...
seeing as how i'm running 93 octane gas, NGK iridium plugs, and magnecor 8.5mm wires i figured maybe i should upgrade my ignition (and hopefully it'll smooth out my idle a little bit) so the question at hand is:
screamin' demon or MSD?
i know a ton of you guys have them, i need advice here - badly
thanks guys,
- Tony

i was going to embark and ask the same question.
from what i read in the product descriptions:
the screamon demon seems to be the one that will actually give you more juice. the msd said something like its just basically a replacement part.
so i'm also wondering what everyone else thinks..... help us out guys.

Use the MSD.
I was able to prototype the Screamin Demon coil from Performance Distributors several years ago. We first use it on the PT Cruiser. (The pictures on Performance Distributors website are of my wife's PT Cruiser)
The first one failed miserably and left the wife sitting on the side of the road for an hour. She wasn't happy. I sent it back to Steve Davis at PD's and he had his tech disect it. I got the second one a couple of weeks later. It failed after about 6 months. I replaced it and the third one failed about three months later. During all this I was selling the coils along with the livewires and have had nothing but misey over the entire thing. I have warrantied about 25 coils and 30 sets of Livewires and have since stopped promoting the product.
I now run the MSD on both the Neon and the PT for over a year now without failure.

iv'e heard the aftermarket coils don't do much..
the ignitions supposedly smooth out the idle and u can control ignition timing with 'em..

thanks, i think i can leave the timing alone ... but the idle smoothing is one of the main reasons - besides upgrading to match the plugs and wires and the fact that this will support the future addition of turbo or supercharger i plan on this coming spring.
...now all i gotta do is be sure i can re-gap my plugs, or should i just buy new ones?...
