eBay "Generic" brand STBs

Do these $20 ones work the same as the $55 ones from Modern Performance and such? I don't see why they wouldn't, but I thought I'd ask. Looking for future mods when I can afford to spend some money here and there.

The ebay ones are probably ok. I've heard that fitment can be an issue with some of them though. They won't perform like the DC bars or anything, but if you just want them to have them then I'm sure you'll be fine.

If I buy something, I do want it to be functional and useful though. I don't want to waste my money. If I can take my STB I just got for my Mustang back, long story kinda, I may buy the DC one that's on the local Craigslist for $50.

I personally like to save and buy the highest quality stuff. Buy it once and never buy it again kind of thing.

Yeah, $55 really isn't that bad, especially when compared to the STBs for my Mustang...

The vibrant $55 dollar ones are crap, if you get them install them and then lean on it while working under the hood. It flexes to the point that it may as well not be there. My Ebay bars on Harold did not flex I stood on that bar with out it deforming at all.

Or you can be like Jason and find a set of Mopar Titanium STB's for $100.

To the OP, if I was going to buy them again I would get the non-adjustable style. Like the DC/Mopar ones. It just seems like a sturdier design to me. That said, my adjustable Falken ones seem to be fine. Aside from having to take the front one off because the turbo was in the way...which is kind of a nice problem to have.

i like my ebay stbs they work fine and brace well. i like the rear one better than the front i like the one pice ones a ton better but they are expensive

My other option was just making my own. Measure out a base plate to fit over the struts, then weld a solid bar between the two.

if you could to that i would say that.. thats pretty cool if you have the right supplies.. dont know what the cost would be but probably cheaper than the actual solid ones. and better than ebay ones.

Yeah, that is something I could do. Heck, my friend and I put 3 different Toyota trucks into one massive 4x4. A plate of 1/4" steel, and a solid bar, some cuts, bends and welds. Done!
