As I told you...those Kosei's look absolutely sick in purple. Then throw the roll bar into the mix. Wow. I love it!

if you want a cheap LS1 look into the 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 engines that came in the trucks.

btw, the rear finish panel is off to get the emblems removed and then repainted. I figured I'd paint everything at once cuz it'd be easiest. I'll be doing:
-fenders
-quarters
-mud guards (never been on the car before)
-rear finish panel
-headlight lids (they need it)
-possibly front bumper (also needs it)

i should just repaint the whole car, lol.

the only reason I won't do that is because the truck engines are iron block. stuffing a aluminum block LS1 in this car only yields 50 more lbs over the front axle compared to the iron OEM 4 cylinder

Ugh! Jess, I didn't think I would ever say this about a purple highlighted car, especially a Miata, but that thing is just pure sex on wheels!

Words cannot express how awesome I think that is!

It happens. :( I'll give anyone the keys to mine with those R1Rs on. I can't even get it sideways in the rain. Best tires I've ever had.

Just make sure you get the aluminum blocks as they make both iron and aluminum.

Actually I do. At my old job working for the sheriffs department central garage we had several police camaros, and a undercover GTO. They were very reliable minus the engine harness having to be replaced 4 times in one car, trans problems in another, and them coming with piston slap from the factory (which GM said was normal engine operating noise?). As did several police Tahoes now that I think about it. The GTO was a beast however.

I just have a personal problem with such a big engine in a small car. I prefer a small displacement, high reving, and "Tight" engine vs. a big, lazy, V8.

Over all it depends on what the car is going to be used for as to what engine would best suit it.

I said the 3 rotor in a joking manner anyways. They are very pricey and wouldn't offer the best bang for the buck. Its just that you don't see to many of the B20s in the states so it would be a pretty cool swap.

Not a 3 rotor, but a local guy's build.

Yeah they are effin huge. I had read that when the Azenis 615 came out, the 195 was about the size of a 205, it ran wide as well. The R1Rs in a 195 are WIDER than the already wide 195 Azenis, which were as wide as a 205.

I think it looks icky. Mainly because the factory green is FTL IMO. Love the idea, but it looks strange with that paint.

I have 205's, and they arent that wide, so yea they huge. I had to show my friend, who wants one and he said the s2k motors are a direct swap.

w00t! first negative comment lol. It's factory BRG, british racing green. Totally not metallic at all, and has more blue in it than a straight green. The car needs a good buff.
Mat00ES wrote:I have 205's, and they arent that wide, so yea they huge. I had to show my friend, who wants one and he said the s2k motors are a direct swap.
They are not, lol. I definitely recall a guy with a black miata swapping it in and having issues with fabricating pieces to get the driveshaft to install with a correct angle... I wouldn't say anything besides the 1.8L which uses the same mounts as the 1.6L and any other mazda/ford 1.6/1.8L are a "direct swap".
