With or Without?

Post by INVUJerry » Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:59 pm

Me and my wife have had this argument since I bought the car. I removed the small grill piece in my 98 neon. I think it looks 10X better without it, she thinks it looks like a piece of the car is missing, however, she is not sure what should be there.

LOL. Thanks guys, I've only liked it for a year and a half. Only problem is (and she agrees) that the stock part dosen't look great. I want something to go in there, but I don't like mesh, and the stock part looks weak.

I vote with, but there is a guy local to me that has a really nice aftermarket mesh insert that goes in there that looks stellar.

Made by a huge company and I can't remember the name...

The only mesh I can find is on ebay right now. It looks decent, but not awesome.

WITH. I absolutely hate the look of 1st gens with the grille piece taken out.

As for changing the look, just get a spare and paint it black and put it in there. A friend of mine has a Platinum '98 ACR that he put a black grille in back when we were in high school and it actually looked really good.

For some reason I thought you had euro front markers on your car Jerry, but now that I see you don't, my friend's ACR also had niteshaded front turns with the housings painted black, so the whole section between the headlights was blacked out. I think the stock front markers with the black grille would look fine, but blacking them out would be another option.

P.S. You need a fog bumper and painted door handles in the worst way.
