Im hoping Alex, Im trying to plan this out and do a little bit each day. The spoolboy mod is done and just waiting to go in the tank, I gotta get a bung welded for my AEM UEGO. I have to install the valve keepers into the retainers, extend the coolant temp sensor and splice in the DOHC cam sensor and then the head should be able to go on.. All in theory that is, lol
So Im hoping man, I really am.

what are you going to do about the intake manifold i tried to use the stock one that goes on the dohc head and with the lower plenum off the bottom of the manifold sits about half an inch away from the started so theres no room for the lower plenum. what are you going to use? i might just make a aluminum ghetto blaster for my set up just like the amm intake mani or possibly like the lone wolf performance one let me know what you did with the im pls

well I did plan on using the the DOHC head from a 1gn, but I guess I might have to re evaluate that.. Or just go out and yank my starter from my old and busted 1gn Idk this thing is already becoming a giant headache...

Use a 1gn starter, it fits and it'll clear everything.
In theory. To use a 2gn intake mani (mag or stock) on a 1gn you need the 2gn start, and it bolts up.

So many neons so little time.

Yea dude I have been planning this for a long time and doing research on it since like 2005, just going through posts both on here and over on the .org I figured Id take a stab at it and be one of the few who do this swap so that others may benefit from my experiences.

Well technically the head just bolts on, but you will have to use a first gen starter to clear the intake mani from a DOHC, you will have to figure out what to do with the power steering lines, and then you might have to hack up some other things but by no means is it plug and play.

yea I'd rather not re-live it right now, Im still kinda in denial about it, I put it out in enough time, so I hope that nothing is too seriously damaged, but my radiator fan, a bunch of wiring and vacuum lines, are melted my wiring harness is done... Maybe I should just try to find an srt- short block, or long block and have someone put it in, Im paranoid now about workin on my car myself...
