Image the rubber part blew out

ok so i put the rubber back in and am currently holding it in place with a speaker wire terminal connector.

So what do i need to buy to fix this and where can i get it in the next 2 days cause i thought the boogers were the little black part to the right of it

and what holds the bushing in place is it a pin a screw or does it just stick on there

Zip ties are your friend in this instance. Just tie the cable end to the selector.

My brother-inlaw put a hex nut in his. It has been there a while now. I've tried to get him to just buy some boogers, as it will wear the pin out after a while. But that should get you by reliably till you get some. ;)

The Booger bushings are your only hope for a real fix (unless you want to spend $200.00 at the dealer for new cables). The other ways mentioned are simply temporary to get you moving.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Tie the white cable end to the selector shaft. There is no real wrong way to do it.

Zip ties and duct tape - the world would fall apart w/out them

Glad to see you got your car back on the road

I had the same problem (both shifter bushings were shot, too), so I made one out of a piece of polyurethane, a couple of fender washers, and an E clip. I'll pin the other 3 bushings when I'm done with the rest of the car.
