Some quick pictures today...

Post by darthroush » Sat Jul 25, 2009 1:58 am

Was sitting on my butt at home today, bored, so I went for a drive an took a few new pictures of the car in it's current state. The taillights have a few light coats of Nite-Shades on them. Nothing crazy, but noticeable. I want to get some wheels and tires, but I have to figure out why the car won't stay in alignment. Those that will tell me to lower it, feel free to contribute to the fund via PayPal. : D

Decided when I got home to take the faded, whitish-gray, horrible looking grille out and repaint it. Washed with Dawn to remove anything on it. Two good coats of Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter, then several coats of Duplicolor Bumper Paint. Looks like new! I also painted the foam that goes underneath the bumper, and removed the huge air silencer while I was under there. Not sure the exact benefit of this, but I keep seeing posts here and there about taking it out, so I figured why not. Will get after shots of it on the car tomorrow. Got too dark before I was finished in town this evening.

I also painted the HVAC trim and the two side window vents metallic charcoal. Will have to get some pictures of them installed as well, but I think most here get what it would look like.

I'm liking the Patriot Blue, though I do miss the Shale Green was it on my '01. Will try and get some "after" pictures on Monday.

Nice choice of location by the trees; awesome pictures!

I really like how the grill and HVAC turned out. They look brand new!

Good job so far! Keep it up

Oh yeah, Patriot Blue is a million times better than Shale Green IMO. So I wouldn't miss it if I were you lol.

I almost bought a patriot blue 05 with NO options. But I opted for the AC car with a CD player and 7 spokes. It was a good idea.

srtgtr34 - It was a Duplicolor Graphite paint. It is "textured" and metallic. I remember you painting your wheels though. They turned out good.

Tam - Thanks! I figured the trees would be a bit better than the other side which was a hillside covered in dead grass, lol.

DOSneons - Not too sure about that one. I'd guess by the name though, "midnight" blue, it would be darker.

Oh, and to those who have told me to drop it, still no money in my PayPal account. Come on slackers... :beatstick:

You never asked. I just always wonder why everyone wants my car? Just like in the movie Gran Torino when Walt asks that...

Anyways, I wouldn't be paying for shipping, so you'd still have to send me some mulah through PayPal for that amongst other things... :tardbang: You're now slacking on both accounts :slap:

I have some pictures of the above on the car, just have to upload 'em later.

Thanks. The little window vents are also painted. One of these days I'll get the shifter bezel out and do that too.

Yes, by the Casino, lol. I actually worked there for almost five years.

First gen springs huh? They work fine on the factory struts? How much of a drop do they provide and how stiff are they compared to the 2gn ones? I was going to put in SRT4 springs, but for the amount of a drop it was going to give me, it didn't seem worth the effort. Though, I would probably be able to corner better.
