Going for SRT-4 Swap, and looking for a wreck or parts

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT, I have read up and studied all of the parts I would need.

The shop wants to charge me over $2000 for a transmission because I killed mine. So I was wondering if it was possible to get the parts for a complete SRT-4 swap or a wrecked SRT-4 for $2300-$2500. (so not just the engine and tranny but every other part involved)

gonna be hard to find ive seen them anywhere from 4k-6k

if it comes down to that and no one wants to go that low I will just fix the tranny. I would LOVE to do that swap but even 5k is mega buxx

are you in school? get a school loan, they usually send you the check...

Step 1: Cash the check
Step 2: Find wrecked SRT
Step 3: Swap it
Step 4: After you grad. you have anywhere from 6 months to 9 months i believe to pay off the loan.

and another plus to that is that every american needs to be in debt sometime in their life to establish credit (if you dont already have some). One day you will need to buy your own house and car and put your children through college so why not start your debt with a srt swap...thats how i look at it atleast haha

Girls are nothing but trouble for me lol, I hate to say that because I have a wonderful one now, but all the past ones didnt just come and go they went with a BANG on my credit and accounts. (That was just me being stupid but I smartened up)

I put an ad on Craigslist searching for a wreck, and I'm going to check junkyards and see what they have and the prices. I'm sure Fuzzy is right that I wont find anything for that price, but hey its worth a shot

It's my dream to boost this Neon I'm going to keep trying even if I have to buy one part at a time

just got that in reply to my ad on CL... hes asking $3500 and I already had the shop order my transmission for a total of $2088

I'm pissed..

yea looking around and waiting is how you get some low prices on wrecked srt's i paid 2500 for my donor and I spent a long time waiting for one i could afford. Now if the car is ur only car then yea it makes sense to fix it but if it can wait .
