i pulled the car out on stock computer today, it was a very nice day out today, so i figured i would do some cleanup on wiring, and assemble some stuff outside. i decided the other day to install a manual fan switch, so i decided were to mount that switch, i cleaned and wire loomed all the steal braided lines under the dash cover to hide them better, got everything ready for the exhuast guy to.

enough talk.... pic time!!!

few engine shots

sparcos ftw! i love these seats. not the easiest to get in and out of, but when i am in them, sooo nice
Image

back seat area.... i was not really a fan for a while, but i really like this setup now, still a work in progress though.... i also added a chrome fire extingusher that is mounted on the passanger side of the roll cage, then i padded it to the cross bar.. however i forgot to get a pic of that

Nice, your engine bay is looking so clean, a polished manifold and piping would look real good in the back of the bay

i got the strut bar from advance when i worked there... i think 04-05... something like that..., so was not me neonpla.... sorry...

jesse, i love the cage, i have thought about padding the whole thing, but i just dont want to loose that "show" look yet....

thanks for the comments guys... i got the car back from the exhaust shop thursday night, sounds good and he did a great job with it as always.. last night i put the 02 sensors in the car, wideband and upstream, so now i am almost ready to get the car started on megasquirt, but i was looking at my ic piping and did not like how it was looking, so i decided to change the piping..

the throttle body, is not directly off the intake, and the ic pipe runs from a 90 degree to a 45 degree into the coupler..... fits sooooo much better.... i will working on that later tonght... (dont have the money for tigging on the ic piping, so i think i am going to try jb weld.... maybe)

and chris... i remember our pulls being very damn close last year.... this year.... all u will see is my blacked out headlights.

plan for the weekend,

get ic piping done, painted, and installed, relocate oil catch can for air filter to fit better under the hood
install diodes and finish wiring led shiftlights
wire up flatshift/launch control
wire fan switch (manual)
install firmware on ms
start car on ms
get good idle
(raining this weekend so no tuning)

if time allows, wetsand tail lights to get alittle lighter (but not to much lighter, )

install front bumper
install S style eyelids

sit back and enjoy the looks of a completely put together car..

pics to fallow... (had to work this morning, :banghead:

got about half my list done, bumper is still off, fan switch is still not hooked up, and wiring for flat shift is not complete. but i did get all the firmware installed, my ic piping is done excluding paint. when i was doing my ic piping i managed to drop my iat sensor on the floor, braking the tip. so needless to say... i can not start the car... it was kinda disapointing but tomorrow morning that is the plan... eyelids are installed, car is cleaner.

i may go out to the garage tonight to the the bumper installed, and mess with the interfenders, besides that i am waiting on things to dry....

pics tomorrow... if not tonight....

alright, so thismorning i went on a hunt for my iat sensor.... no luck in finding one, i ordered it from work however and it will be here today at 2, i work till five.... besides getting the sensor on, bov mounted, and nitrous nozzle mounted the car is ready to start on ms2.

i did mount the bumper today however... so the car is complete yet again.

a few pics.
Image

fire extingusher mounted (forgot to take pic last time)
Image

engine....
i changed my throttle body location.... i like it this way better i think... but room for the air cleaner is limited now.

Image

that is all for now... going to work on getting the interfenders in, and mounting the ms and wiring the flat shift... :)

Really, I was on 10-12psi of boost untuned...Now I'm hitting 20+ and still untuned. I actually have a throttle stop installed so I do not go over 25% throttle so I can keep the boost down

chris, i was running 12 psi last year, on a decent street tune.... this year i will be running 15 psi on street. then jumping to 25 psi for strip... should be a fun time..

only things left for me now is...

wire flat shift
mount ms
wire fan
install interfenders.

car will be running tonight. cant wait. no street tune though as yet again it is raining in ny....

ic piping is painted and installed, oil catch can moved again, and engine bay is almost 100% complete. :)

alright, first drive of the season was yesterday..... it went well, but as always i had a few minor problems. my drivers side headlight holds moisture, i need to adjust the headlights alittle as well (minor)

but perhaps the worst thing is that my wideband is messing up, the last drive only showed 14.9 all the time, so something is up, i am going to check the grounds tonight and go from there....

the end of the week the car will be running great

the roll cage is a kit that i got from competition engineering, it has been modified to fit my likings/height however, the main hoop is not available for a 2gn neon, but the hoop out of a 1gn that they offer is a perfect fit. just have to cut about 3 inchs off the bottom....

if i decide to keep the back seats out of the car, i may change the cage slightly but as for now, it works for me.

i also am having a local vinal shop do some vinals for me, but that you will have to wait and see.... :)

edit for pics taken by my gf yesterday... sorry no vids though, i will be doing that after tuning is done... or close to done... :)

well, this morning i installed the mbc on the car... decided that it needed a bath, then decided i needed to go for a spin... a good and both bad idea...

the mbc was turned up alittle but seeings i am running a different wastegate, turbo, exc i should have turned the knob down alittle bit.... anyway. i went down a road that is by me, no traffic usually, and a good place to do some wot runs... well i got up to 2nd gear and got on the car... not sure what my throttle was at but all i did was hold on.... HOLY FUCK i thought as the car started to pull not only like a train, but kept pulling... i looked at the boost gauge to see it slam to 17-18psi, i shifted to third. the tires started to give loose and hold me to my new sparco seats. (they are sooo nice btw, :) ) then a sound i NEVER WANTED to hear... BANG! oh shit.... i got off the throttle asap. i heard a tick tick tick... thunk... ting ting ting.. i look in my review mirrow.... a silver shinny thing goes bouncing to the side of the road... i rev the car.... thank god... still rounds and is quiet... but what did i loose????? the car is now idoling at 1500 huh... i thought as i turn around and pull up next to the shinny object.... FUCK... my bov.... i drove the car home parked it... the jb weld that i was trying to save some money on instead of tigging decided it did not like the 17+ boost and blew off the ic piping... i got home wondering if my turboxs bov was destroyed....

i pulled the whole thing apart, everything is still intact... it did however bend and break the vaccum line nipple on the top... (i am hoping i can get another one tigged on it) the vavle, spring everything internal is fine. alittle roadrash adds charictor right??

for all of you guys in the process of turboing you car, or thinking of it... remember trying to do something cheap will cost you more in the long run... if i can not get the nipple fixed i will be stuck buying a new 200+ dollar bov. should have just spent the 100 or so to start with...

at 18 psi the car is almost scary fast... i was expecting the car to be running at last years psi of 12... wow was i wrong...

all in all....... BULLSEYE S256 is soooo ftw... i can not wait to get this pipe done right this week, and continue tuning...

What w/b are you running? The sensor could've died on you, that happened to my old UEGO when i first got it, all it read was 14.9 and come to find out the sensor was junk.

i know from experience that the aem wideband defaults to 14.9-14.8 when the sensor is not connected, somewhere there is a break in connection because its not reading the sensor at all.

True, that's another possibility. Mine was connected but the sensor was just fried.

i found my sensor had rubbed last year. and broke a few wires right next to the sensor... so i replaced it and now the car is running great...

we fixed the ic pipe last night... more jb weld.. held for ten psi so i was happy for now with it... i am going to gradually turn up the boost ... set at ten lbs the car moves well... nothing like the 18 did though...

pulled the car out today to sweep the garage and clean it out.... took a few pics also...

car is now running a streetable 12lbs. i will be keep autotuning for the next few days to turn it up somemore.... overall goal is a mild 15psi street tune... then leaving it alone at 15. well that is untill i get board with 15... lol

my afrs are around 14.5 at 60 miles an hr out of boost... i am very happy with that, and under full load boosting 12 psi i am running around 13.4. alittle rich but i will take it...

not sure if i read this correctly but 13.4 would be lean at WOT if that's what you're talking about in the above post.
