New to site..

Post by OrangeLighting » Fri Aug 07, 2009 2:59 am

Hello all well i just got my Neon back.. was given a 2000 dodge neon es for my 16th birthday.. Never really did anything too the thing but me and that car lived thru some interesting times and things prob shouldnt have done.. Well i sold it too a guy and bought a Jeep Wrangler (big change huh) This sunday he tried to take the neon thru 2.5' of water which obviously didnt work, also cranked it while setting in water until killed battery (hes not too mechanically inclined) i always told him if he got rid of the car it was too come back too me because of being my first car..

So.. now i have my neon setting in yard thats got a hydrolocked motor... (way past saving) and i cannot bring myself too sending it too junkyard, think i found my winter project just gonna move it into the garage... Thinkin off rebuilding it with a SRT4 motor.. I just have started too read up on the srt4 swap but anyone that can link me too a good wright up on swapin into a 00 or know which yr SRT4 will be easiest too pull from and any complications i might run into (plan on findin a wreck somewhere) Any tips would be great.. havent researched this nearly enough and wasnt planing on doing it.. but Noone even seems 2 have a srt4 around here much less a swap.. any help welcomed :)
Cannot give up on my neon..

Those pics are older do not have any new ones.. like i said completly stock.. time to mode it too what i want :)

I define beyond saving by was done on sunday its now sat iv had no time off work too start tearin it apart.. the oil pan was busted on a rock in the water so it had water get in from there, it took water in the air intake, it also took water from the exhaust. The cylinders were filled so i know there rusted by now.

Plus this gives me a good cover story too justify puttin the money into it for the srt4 :)

To get to 350hp, you'll need to go with a bigger turbo and supporting mods.

Welcome!

And start reading the swap section, FI section, and FAQ's.

The '00 is prolly one of the hardest years to swap an SRT driveline into.
