Yes, the Hahn basic stage kits will work fine on MS. The 16g turbos they use run out of breath pretty quick, but are good street turbos.

i never thought of yours . its pretty close in hp gain right? over the winter starting well now im doing r/t trans swap, megasquirt and going for a turbo set up perhaps ill consider just getting both ms and turbo from asp. i only want to run about 8psi for reliability. what do you estimate the hp gain is from your kit?

I guess probably the best way to learn about the kit is from someone that has bought the kit.

Why do r/t trans swap if going with turbo? With a turbo car you want longer gears..

I have a couple small quotes from him, but it wouldn't be professional to copy the whole thing, as it has references to a competing product, etc. But we are happy that we have been able to provide Glasswars with an experience positive enough to take the time to write what he did.

Auto trans is booooring not to mention not as durable or upgradeable.

Most people go with the 3.55 trans when they go with a turbo. If your goal is quarter mile times you will probably run out of 4th gear before the end of the track if you make enough power. And you don't want to shift into 5th on the track.

Not as viable for the 4-speed car. Besides, it needs a stock controller to shift it. It'll shift at 6200 RPM's. 5-speed and MS, you can shift at.....whatever.

Frank, assuming he has a 3.94 and stock tires, 4th gear at 6500 is ~~120. Unless he's doing deep 11's, I don't think he'll run out of gear.

i can get the r/t trans(273kms) with pedals, slave ecu etc for $800.00 or i can get one out of a 04 sxt for 600.00 with all the other swap parts only 50kms. likely going with the 3.55 for the fact it has less mileage.

Slave ecu? What do you need the ECU for if you're going to a MS?

The lower miles is worth it.

good point... the 4 speeds are junk when you make them work. 600 isnt bad with all of the swap parts. You can find used 3speeds for around 300 all day long. picked one up for 250. manual valve body and some good steels and clutches and thats another 550ish. if you cant do it yourself... then its LOTS more.

The manual swap will be best for you then

In the stickied SRT turbo write it up it says ya'lls oil pumps would blow up eventually...yet I don't see anyone turbo running an upgraded oil pump. What gives? Is that information incorrect? Should prolly be fixed than if the stock pump suffices

It is incorrect it is the design of the oil pump that is flawed not the amount of flow. In many cases the high volume pump will increase strain on the engine and cause more cavitation(forcing more liquid through restricted passages) the closest thing to a fix for the problem is the opening and polishing of all oil and coolant passages namely the one in the bedplate. Im still waiting for somebody to adapt an external electric pump or an SRT pump to a 2.0 unfortunately I dont have the funds to be the pioneer on that one.
