RESSURECTED!

so yeah im finally getting around to fixing the car, for those that dont know i had a setback of the headlights not working, or well when i turn them on the passengers side is dim and the wipers wont turn off, so thanks to fuzzy i got another mfs to see if that would fix it but it wasnt the problem, so i got a multi meter and im gonna check for shorts and bad grounds soon

other issues i recieved were a low voltage on the iac code, and a clicking noise by the iac, so im planning on picking up a spare from a friendly guy who lives by me who happens to own a sweet hhr ss.

and last but not least the brake noise

im getting a really bad noise when i drive the car and it seems to me that its comming from the brakes, possibly a warped rotor, but it was speculated that it could be a wheel bearing, or axle related issue but theres no vissible damage on the axle, and no rips, tears or fluid anywhere

today my plans are to put new rotors and pads on the car, depepnding on the existing condition of the rotors and pads, and also an oil change which is a little tiny bit overdue for my standards

if im up for it i might run thru the electrical system trying to find this issue, and if i dont get around to it then it will be done monday

also if anyone works at a dealership and can get me some magnum intake manifold bolts(the cheap ones, not the studs) and have them shipped to me thatd be fantastic

EDIT!
ok soooo on seconds closer inspection, my brakes are fine, and i found that the passengers side headlight ground was shorting, so i fixed that, and now my headlight wiper problem is gone, and i figured out the noise im having is my drivers side axle boot is ripped

now i just need to fix the boot

Axel boots mean nothing. It's when the wheel just stops moving that it becomes a problem.

Go grab one and hop to it!! If not..duct tape works great to seal the boot (don't ask me how I know )

I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to changing an axle and I've heard the boot is a pain. In the ass to change, but will duct tape get rid of the noise issue I'm having crystal? I'm really tempted to find out

What noise? What happened to me was the boot tore, so to keep the grease in until I got a new axle (I didn't bother with just a boot) I duct taped the shit out of the boot, and it held well enough for a week. It is no substitute for a blown axle...if you have clicking or popping noises and/or vibration, buy an axle.

^ umm wow.

like $70 at your local advanceautoparts..or whatever you got in your town.

they work the same as OEM. you dont need to be spending more than $100 for an axle.

yeah but you do know that the core charge is taken off if you turn in your old axle.. that $100 is there just incase you dont turn in your old broken one. so you would only have to pay $60 + tax.

I say you tape it up and get to the meet. The clicking isn't gonna affect anything. It's the moment when your car doesn't move anymore that you gotta be worried about.

Go grab one from Napa then, just be sure to grab ATF too so you can re-fill your tranny.

Ok thanks guys, but any idea if I can use an automatic pt gt axle? An ebay auction(not the most reliable source I know) saod they were selling an axle that fit pt cruisers,pt gts and neons and some others I think, if this is the case I have a spare pt gt axle in my garage, this would save a ton!
