Got the head back today, looks great. Other head bent all 8 exhaust valves. This head is in good condition, and looks like new after he cleaned it all up. He only charged me 60 but I gave him 80. Felpro Top end gasket kit and head bolts cost me 125. I'll get pics of it tomorrow.
I'm pretty much done with the top half of the intake, the other half will get finished probably tuesday. Now don't give me shit about how horrible it looks or whatever. First time doing it, don't have the "Proper" tools. I could only get down into the runners so far with the tools I have. For what I'm doing, this is far better than what it was stock. Just trying to get a better flow, not make a racecar. 2.4 will do that later.

Before

After

This is how dirty it is

What the manifold was soaking in. Full of oil now. Manifold was so full of carbon and shit. EGR sucks, plus it ended up backing up. Will buy an EGR blockoff later.

After soaking, still dirty so it's soaking now. Will finish tuesday I hope.

Got the head back. The guy owed my dad a favor so he did everything for 80. Cleaned both heads, the old one and the one I bought. Head that was on the car bent all 8 exhaust valves. Head I bought just needed cleaned.

Was taking the bulbs out of the old headlights for the 2gn and broke the tip off on accident. Didn't think anything of it and used it. That didn't go over very well. Turned yellow and started smoking lol.

Hopefully should start getting things pieced together this weekend.

Side markers and headlights got a cleaning. Were pretty bad before. Sanding the painted on eyelids off of the headlights was a real bitch.

After

All the junk on the roof

Dumbass Ricer Lugnuts

My favorite part of the car lol

Tails I snagged from junkyard for ten bucks. Cleaned up nice.

Bad/Faded paint. Parts where Flames were on it at one time.

My Racing Blue Belt lol

Somepne's had the head off before

Adjustable Bobbly Strut

No A/C lines... You don't need those.

I tried buffing with good 3m compound, and even extra cut compound. Didn't make a big difference. The car has been painted before, and for all I know the paint under the flames is original paint and the other paint is just a different color. My dad says it was painted with enamel paint...

Well on that news lol. Idk yet. I've been pretty tight on time. I only got enough of the car to start it. All the vac lines were off, oops, and as soon as it started it went straight to redline so I had to shut it off. The motor sounded good from what I could hear lol. And hell the thing started up easier then my car does when it's cold.
I'm just glad to hear it start, because being it never ran in the first place, I had know clue if the thing ran at all. Kid could've been lying.
I still have to:
Take a/c compressor mount off.
Get alt belt and alternator all fastened down and plugged in. (hoping it's good)
power steering belt on
figure out where all the dam vac lines go.
hook up egr shit
outer timing cover needs put on.
side motor mount is done drying(filled) so i need to put it back in.
need to take the front motor mount out and fill it.
6x9's need put in
radiator needs put in
All I can think of for now. I'll have some pics of the intake manifold all painted up and everything on the car tonight.

Cars done. Just have to go get the plates for it monday.
Drained the trans fluid to find gear oil. Pretty sure that's not supposed to be in there even with the phantom grip. Removed it and put atf in there for now. Going to get mobil 1 for it tonight.
