I under stand that you are certified.. but each paint manufactor has its own instructions as well.. I'm not saying ur wrong or your right.. I'm just telling you that sherwinn automotive finishes tell us thats what to do.. and as for sealer not being sanded what about new parts..? We are told to scuff with a red pad and sand with 400. Then spray sealer on it.. base the jambs.. then we hang the part. It gets sanded and then painted... I'm sure every paint man is close in there prep and stuff but each has its own lil diferences.. at my old shop we used sikkens and there process was slgithly different from my new works.. will both your and my way work .. yes.. has my shop or bi ever had issues.. no.. and we gauranntee lifetime on the paint work. 2 years I m hear we did one bumoper over from an old tech that never put down adhesion promotor on a raw plastic bumper..
I'm done now.. its just gunna turn into a piss/flame macth but I wanted to let you know that that's vwhat we are told from the paint maker and my companies higher ups itself..
Good. Luck ryan on ur trunk man.. just give it them as is..as every shop, painter maker may do things a little different..

Yep it's all different.
My dad's been painting since he was like 16 and he and his employer/body shop do it slightly different then what's stated here.
